ABSTRACT
|
| The proliferation of AI technologies require project managers to develop hybrid competencies that combine technical proficiency with soft skills such as leadership, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. However, traditional training programs lacks these requirements, emphasizing methodological knowledge over experiential and human-centered capabilities. This paper presents the PRAXIS PMC-BOX (Project Management Challenge Box), an innovative web-based gamified learning platform that integrates competition-based learning, simulation scenarios, and AI-powered personalization mechanisms to upskill and reskill project managers. The platform implements a skills assessment tool providing personalized recommendations, a knowledge repository, a challenge builder incorporating an AI assistant and a collaborative workspace for competitive-based learning. Core learning activities include virtual learning scenarios at multiple difficulty levels, e-hackathons for collaborative problem-solving, and virtual battle arenas for competitive scenario resolution. An evaluation study was conducted over three months including 45 participants from the three target groups, namely professional project managers, entrepreneurs, and students/researchers. The evaluation dimensions were platform usability, gamification effectiveness, AI-driven personalization accuracy, and the pedagogical value of competition-based challenges. The findings indicate that the integration of gamification elements with AI-powered adaptive learning paths enhances learner engagement and supports competency development in project management.
