| Mobile health (mHealth) applications, driven by persuasive technology, hold significant potential to stimulate physical activity and facilitate long-term behavior modification. While theoretical models suggest that personalization and customization foster a critical sense of user autonomy, the ultimate effectiveness and continued engagement of these tools rely heavily on intuitive User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design. Poor UI decisions can hinder task performance and negatively impact user perception, whereas human-centered design reduces cognitive load and enhances overall system usability. Building upon empirical evidence that customization specifically increases the intention to engage in physical activity for individuals with a high need for autonomy, this research details the development and evaluation of an efficient, user-centric mHealth system. To assess the proposed application, a face-to-face mixed-methods evaluation was conducted with a convenience sample of 40 participants. The assessment focused on perceived UI satisfaction, overall usability, feature completeness and the application's ability to support individual autonomy. Results indicated highly positive responses across all domains. Participants reported that the intuitive interface facilitated ease of use, while the integrated customization options successfully promoted active control over their personal health management. The findings demonstrate that combining UI/UX principles with persuasive, personalized features fulfill functional expectations and provides essential motivational support for independent wellness management.
