Workshop on
Attention Control Architectures and Ubiquitous Computing

This workshop is organized in the framework of the Tales of the Disappearing Computer and aims to explore the theme of Attention Control in the design of Autonomous Agents. Such agents are an appropriate approach for building Ubiquitous Systems. The Agents have to manage the information flows generated from such systems. The flows carry all sort information. Effort should be given to prioritize the important information from the backround one. Such cases exist in preventing and recovering from hardware related failures, adjusting the sensor monitoring policies that are responsible for the welfare of a user, etc. Attention Control is the uniflying theme that brings together all the above aspects. In addition, problems of conflict resolution and goals execution are resolved using this mechanism. In this way we can construct systems which offer better fault tolerance, being more responsive to a changing environment and achieving better utilization of resources by focusing the system resources where and whene are needed.
